The brief to WJFA was to design a contemporary urban residence suitable for an executive couple with children.

Drawing open extensive research into the architecture of the 40s and early 50s the house was designed with an emphasis on entertaining.

The living area opens onto a courtyard and garden areas via large span bi-fold doors.  Extensive use of glass creates light filled spaces perfect for entertaining.

The kitchen features clear glass splashbacks and bi-fold windows overlooking the pool area, at back, allowing easy service.

Extensive use of recycled timbers and natural rock work follow the philosophy of WJFA and an outdoor entertaining area draws heavily on Japanese garden and pagoda design.

At the front of the house, recycled Blackwood vertical columns, screen living areas while giving a broken view out into the front garden and water feature.  A timber entry bridge and canopy formalise the entrance.
