PRACTICE

WJFA is a small-scaled architectural practice with big idea's, located in St Kilda, Australia. The practice is dedicated to providing architectural solutions for housing and commercial structures that are visually and functionally appropriate to the environment as well being commercially viable.

 

The practice is based around the design of Warren J Foster, who undertook studies in the use of Mid 20th Century Modernism and the Case Study Houses of Richard Neutra, Craig Ellwood and Piere Koenig. The movement of re-interpreting mid-century modern architecture is now known as the Coastal Modern Movement. The backbone of the practice is the high end housing sector with several awards for Bayside Residential projects as well and has commendations for the RAIA Melbourne prize for Architect's for the 36 Unit, 12 Storey fit out of Drewery Lane, Melbourne. Other projects range from large Aged Care and Government Housing projects to small Residential extensions. 

 

The practice has also undertaken many commercial fitouts specializing in Advertising Agency's, including fitouts for Campaign Palace in (Melbourne & Sydney), GPYR (Sydney), Idea Works (Sydney) and Style Council PR (Melbourne).

 

The practice's current projects list includes, Coastal and Residential housing projects, Aged care facilities, Government housing projects, Restaurants and commercial Warehouses.

Other services offered by WJFA are building and planning permit applications, drafting, restaurant and liquored licenses, project management, and presentation plans.
